PETROS MARTIN'S CONCEPTUAL WORLD.
A critic once remarked that a true artist strives, by whatever means, to broaden the perception of others in the hope that they share his joy. In this series of paintings, Petros does just that: he broadens our inner perception by sharing in his vision of that spirit that inhabits each and every one of us. Here the artist's sure hand is at work, and the message is very clear: we have acquired so much knowledge of the external world and yet we know so little about ourselves. I strongly believe that with this work Martin has accomplished an artistic feat. Here content and form coalesce into a complete whole. These paintings clearly indicate that Petros is a well-seasoned artist and a master of the line.

VITALITY AND ICONOGRAPHY
Petros Martin's paintings reveal an art predominantly devoted to the momentum of our existence influenced by the vast gamut of powerful human emotions
-an existence transformed into poetic visions created by the surrealistic perspective of the superimposed and juxtaposed images and colors.The main focus is on understanding these very emotions in their extreme state. And what better way than the female body in symbolic burning color and monumental form to contain, sustain and release these passions.
Symbolic composition and a unique interplay of colors are further enhanced by expressive lines that confines the form to its meaning. The artist, intuitively overwhelmed by the power of visual phenomena, brings sprit to the form and frees the image to live a life of its own. The messages conveyed through his work raise the level of his art to a higher societal and philosophical plane.
Petros' art integrates Canadian vitality and the iconography of European art, culminating in an expressive intensity of modernity bearing the artist's personal touch.
