The present selection of artworks is an introduction to the work of an artist who needs no presentation. Through the many years that I have spent as his collaborator, I have learned to appreciate his quiet and unassuming demeanour, his unfailing dedication to his art and his tremendous determination to succeed in his endeavours.Petros Martin in an artist of the urban milieu, undistinguishable amongst the many but a titan in his studio. Here the man becomes the artist, and the artist at work is another individual possessed by that divine inspiration that is easy to communicate but difficult to express.
His canvases are a testimony to the above statement, and the present collection is a sample of his work that spans several years of his artistic activity.
Analyzing each individual work in this brief introduction would be a futile attempt, however, I would like to bring to the viewer's attention that in this selection, once again, we are confronted with Petros' perennial theme: the human figure in its many changes and aspects of life. And this is no mean task to be accomplished.
As to the artistic merit of the work, I leave that to the canvases to express Martin's devine inspiration and to the viewer the communicability of their message.
